Hello everyone!
I have a big problem.Ever since i came to Denmark i can't start my life. Here is my story: I am from Bulgaria and my boyfriend is from Denmark. We decided to live and work in DK. We had a job interview but they couldn't hire me cause i don't have a danish number. It was a long way till we find how you get a danish number, cause we are living in a small city and they were sending us from place to place. When we finally found out where we should go,there was another problem. In order to have a danish number i have to bring a job contract,or a document from a school where i will study. And i don't have that. And now my situation is like this: I can't work or study here cause i don't have a number, and i can't have a number cause nobody wants to make me a contract without having a danish number! Isn't it redicilous??! It's like an enchanted circle! If there's anybody who has been through this and can tell me what am i doing wrong please write me! Do i have to go back to my country and apply for a residence in Denmark and how and where do i do that or we should move to Copenhagen in case to get this number??? Please help!!!! |

Hi,
Sorry to hear about you troubles, but it´s not that hard though. Once you land a job , you go to SKAT, have them help you make a "forskudskema", they will issue a cpr in a couple of days, and that´s it.
The will not issue you a CPR number unless you have a job for obvious reasons. "You wanna join the program, you contribute to the bottomless hole". That´s the idea anyway.
You also need a bankaccount, which you cannot get until you have a CPR.
So you can easily apply for jobs, the employer will not ask you for or need your CPR until the first paycheck, so that´s not a problem.
If you stay for longer than three months, then you also have to go to STATSFORVALTNINGEN and declare that you intend to continue to work. You can also go down there the same day you land a job, and get it over with if you know for sure you are staying.
FOr an EU citizen it is quite easy to get into the labourmarket, if you can actually find a job. Very different story for non-EU citizens.
So it´s: Land a job-get cpr and taxcard-get bankaccount-go to statsforvaltningen-then you are practically Dane:)

Hi,
Thank you for your reply. It really sounds very simple everything you wrote, but the thing is-i have found a job but they don't want to hire me cause i don't have a CPR number. They said that's their company politic and that's the way it is. A have applyed for job in other places too, but had no answer. The most stupid thing is that i am applying only for cleaning jobs, cause i don't speak danish yet. And still a lot of cleaning job offers they want me to be able to speak read and write in danish! It's unbelivable! If i could speak the language here i would never apply for a cleaning job! So my problem still is,they can't hire me cause i don't have a danish number and at the same time i can't get a danish number cause i don't have a contract to bring...there's something wrong here ![]() If anybody in this forum have an idea how can i solve this problem or knows a working place where thay would hire me even though i don't have a cpr number please write! Me and my boyfriend live in Varde at the moment with plans of moving.. ![]() |

I don´t know what kind of workplace you have spoken to, cause it really isn´t that big a problem. Just have them offer you a contract, and go to tax. If they won´t do that, you probably don´t wanna work there anyway.
Regarding the jobsituation, Danes themselves are many places being forced into cleaning jobs themselves. There is a crisis here too. Bigtime.
Good to have ambition, but some money is better than none. Especially in DK.
Here is some advice for you, and I hope you don´t get offended , cause that is not at all my intention:
Using a lot of emoticons, "screaming" for help desperately, and overreacting as if the world is going under, is a quite common trademark I have seen with many people from Eastern Europe I know. No need to dramatize things, especially in Denmark, where the Danes like to "underplay" things, at least west of Copenhagen:)
The Danes tend to underreact, not overreact. It´s a Danish thing, and quite hard to get used to as a foreigner. Calm down, and investigate, and you will see that things are not as complicated as they look:) No need to make more than one post about it, no offense.

It was a place for cleaning summer houses in Blåvand. But you are right i have to keep on searching and hopefully soon somebody will hire me.I really hope it's soon...have been here for two months and having no job is killing me
I also have an idea that it's so difficult cause we are living in a small city right now..I guess we just have to move to Copenhagen as soon as we can. Thanks for your replys though. It gave me a little hope that not all the working places are the same like the one i told you about. |
